‘Voice of India’ singing contest winner Ishmeet Singh Tuesday died under mysterious circumstances by “drowning” in a swimming pool in Male, the capital of the Maldives.
The 19-year-old singer hailing from a middle-class of this industrial city of Punjab had gone to Maldives for a promotional event with the music company with which he had a contract.
Relatives at his residence here said the family was informed telephonically by the music company officials that Ishmeet died while swimming in a hotel pool in the Maldives.
Relatives, friends and admirers of the singer made a beeline to his house even as his shocked parents tried to come to terms with the untimely tragedy. A pall of gloom descended on the locality.
The singer left here Tuesday morning for Maldives from Mumbai.
Ishmeet had Nov 26 last year won the ‘Voice of India’ singing contest, pipping his closest rival Harshit from Uttar Pradesh in a keen contest. He was given the winner’s trophy by melody queen Lata Mangeshkar.
Supporters of the singer voted heavily for him from Punjab during the finals of the contest. Even though Harshit led the votes tally in most regions of the country, the final count went in Ishmeet’s favour due to heavy voting from Punjab.
“He was like a brother to me. I cannot even comment on what has happened. I cannot believe that he is no longer with us,” fellow contestant Harshit told a TV news channel.

Federal Agency Approves Use Of Generic Wellbutrin In Depression Patients
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said Wednesday that a generic version of a popular name brand antidepressant is both safe and effective, despite recent consumer complaints
The federal agency reviewed the generic version of Wellbutrin manufactured by Teva after some patients reported their depression returned when they switched from the brand name drug Wellbutrin XL to the generic pharmaceutical. Some patients also complained of headaches, anxiety and other side effects.
After evaluating the reports concerning the generic version of bupropion hydrochloride extended-release 300-milligram tablets, the FDA said in its report that the generic product is "a safe and effective choice for consumers in treating depression, as it has been shown to meet all requirements for approval, including bioequivalence to the branded drug, Wellbutrin XL 300-milligram."
In a report posted online, FDA concluded the reoccurrence of depression and other side effects are typical of patients taking antidepressants.
Wellbutrin XL is owned by GlaxoSmithKline of Philadelphia, and manufactured by Biovail of Mississauga, Ontario. Budeprion XL is manufactured by Impax Laboratories of Hayward, Calif., and distributed by Teva Pharmaceuticals of North Wales, Pa.

The SLK 55 AMG is now even more dynamic: a new front apron and dark-tinted headlamps give this unique eight-cylinder roadster an even more athletic look even at a standstill. The handling dynamics of the SLK 55 AMG have also been sharpened. Functional Interior

Mumbai, July 20: Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan have almost come very close to fighting physically at Katrina Kaif Birthday bash. The two leading actors of the Indian film industry not only abused each other in the eyes of the whole select gathering during the birthday party of Katrina Kaif, but were just short of throwing punches at each other.
Salman Khan who had thrown the lavish party for his heart throb Katrina Kaif, the reigning diva of the Indian filmdom was an inebriated state when Shah Rukh Khan entered the party with his wife Gauri Khan. Salman Khan had reportedly a few complaints from Shah Rukh Khan.
The most important complaint being the fact that the king Khan had not reciprocated his generosity by appearing in a guest role in his forthcoming film.
Salaman Khan had appeared in a guest role in Shah Rukh starrer Om Shanti Om, that went on to become a super duper hit. But apparently Shah Rukh Khan failed to reciprocate by doing a guest appearance.

King Khan initially avoided responded to his vitriolic, but thing went out of hand when Sallu threatened to beat him. This infuriated Shah Rukh so much that he said that he would beat Salman, there before theeyes of his friends and relatives.
Luckily Gauri intervened before it was too late and said she was leaving. She took Shah Rukh’s hand and led him outside.
Salman has a very troubled and infamous past. His turbulent relationship with actress Aishwarya Rai was a well publicised topic in the Indian media, and had constantly filled gossip columns. After their break-up in March 2002, Rai accused him of harassing her. She claimed that Khan had not been able to come to terms with their break-up and was hounding her; her parents lodged a complaint against him.
Salman was arrested in 2002 for rash and negligent driving. His car had collided into a bakery in Mumbai killing a person and injuring three others.
In the year 2006 Sallu was acused of blackbuck hunting and was sentenced 1 year in prison. He spent several days in jail later.

Winpwn 2.0 Pwnage option to unlock iPhone 2G for Windows users released

Winpwn 2.0: Got an original iPhone and want to unlock it, or jailbreak an iPhone 3G using the PwnageTool 2.0 but can't because you're using Windows? A solution has surfaced that's reported to be working!
The iPhone Dev Team has done a great job in releasing the PwnageTool 2.0 to unlock and jailbreak the iPhone 2G, jailbreak the iPod Touch and jailbreak the iPhone 3G loaded up with the iPhone OS 2.0... but PwnageTool 2.0 only works on Macs.
Up until now, users of Windows XP or Vista have needed to wait for the developer of WinPwn to update the software to support iPhone OS 2.0 support, but the delivery date of an upgrade is at present unknown.
However it has been discovered that the customised iPhone 2G and 3G firmware that the PwnageTool 2.0 creates can still be transferred over to Windows-using iPhone owners, and instructions have been posted online.
Sleepers.net is the website that has the details on what to do, listed here, courtesy of a user called “BigBoss”.
Another user called Kinetic-X has created a site called iunlocked.org which also goes into the details of what needs to be done to upload the customised firmware on Windows computers.
The customised firmware has been uploaded to torrent sites and the RapidShare file download system, with users reporting success in downloading and applying the update, and while some have reported difficulties, the comments stream at Sleepers.net has all kinds of answers.

Because RapidShare does not allow free users to download larger than a 200MB file at a time, some users have decided to become premium RapidShare users, while others have taken advantage of a RapidShare link that has the customised iPhone OS 2.0 firmware split into two parts.
Splitting the file in two results in two files smaller than 200MB, which negates the need to become a premium RapidShare user.
Another user in the comments stream has uploaded the complete file to Sendspace which apparently does not have the 200MB file size limitation and does not require payment to become a premium user.
The comments stream continues growing by the minute with reports of success, explanations of what different users did to make it work, and whoops of joy as iPhone 2Gs now run the iPhone OS 2.0, able to make calls, send text messages, download Super Monkey Ball and more.
Although a Windows version of the PwnageTool 2.0 will undoubtedly come in the form of WinPwn or ZiPhone or some other tool in the future, plenty of iPhone 2G owners can’t wait and are getting the iPhone OS 2.0 any way they can.
There are also reports of both the separate iPhone 2G and 3G versions of the iPhone 2.0 firmware being available for download, as well as firmware for the iPod Touch.
So... if you’re a Windows user and have an iPhone 2G or 3G and want to Pwn it, there is finally a way.
